Most of our clients come to Torus because of an interest in one healing practice, but we invite you to experience each modality when you are ready… and on your timeframe!
Torus Therapy was designed for healing. After the founders own healing journey, she found that meeting with various healers at different locations became burdensome and time consuming. In addition, she found that retreats helped and aided in healing, however it was difficult to integrate the work that was done once every day life resumed.
As a result, Torus was designed to house all the healers in one place so that integration can happen in a natural progression and process. Today it has expanded to Torus Therapy, specializing in Psychotherapy, EMDR, and other therapeutic modalities and Torus Center for Integrative Center offering Yoga, Acupuncture, Massage Therapy, and more. We have found that not everyone can afford retreats, nor does everyone have the luxury of being able to attend them. Thus, Torus brings the retreat to you, in your community, just in a different style that fits your everyday life.
Torus’ program is outlined for you to meet with various practitioners (with your permission), we work together as a team, focusing on your individual needs, and to develop a comprehensive wellness plan specifically for you.
True healing is multifaceted and layered, and as it takes a village to raise a family, it also takes a village to help in your healing. Our team works together, we are cohesive and personal. We are family, and we hope that you find yourself being a part of our family too.
So how does this all work?
Why does Torus feel so strongly about integrative healing?
We find it best explained if we think of your therapy (healing) and nervous system as a garden hose; so, if our healing and energy are kinked, we move slower through the healing process. However, as we layer in the different practices, we notice a shift and acceleration in progress toward improved mental, spiritual and physical health.
Each practitioner has the same underlying goal… to move people out of the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight), into the parasympathetic (rest and digest). We hold space for you to process healing on a variety of levels – physical, emotional, spiritual, energetic, and mental. Torus believes the body has the ability and potential to heal itself and our goal is to be the guide. Our therapists hold space and our clients witness a level of healing that connects us, supports personal growth and discovery, enables higher thinking, opens creativity channels, and shifts perspective. As you begin to shift into this state, the tools learned each week, you experience a sustainable and deeper level of healing.
What we understand from our clients is clarity comes from being able to be still, calm, and rest in a state of relaxation and peace. In those moments of peace, when we can pause and be in the moment, we start to rediscover our innate power, authenticity, and purpose. Consequently, as our power in the pause grows greater, this strength is brought into everyday life. Leading us to be present, aware, and to participate in a life of our own design instead of being a victim to the past.
Our Intake Process
We are committed to finding a therapist that is the best fit for you. To ensure that we find the right therapist for you, we offer to schedule an initial intake session with one of our Intake Coordinators. They will meet with you for the first session, listen to what you’re coming in for, and provide insight into the various services we offer at Torus and why we operate using an integrative model. The time is for you to identify what care would be the best for you.
If you are interested in scheduling, please call 224-803-2295 or send an email at info@torus-therapy.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
We are here to help you find a life full of meaning.
